About Me
I am a California licensed and nationally certified Speech-Language Pathologist by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Growing up in Cyprus, a small island country in the Mediterranean, located southeast of Greece, I knew very early that my goal in life was to work with people. My decision to become a speech language pathologist originated through an experience I had with Christiana, my hard-of-hearing cousin. Seeing the changes that speech therapy made in her life but also how it supported her family’s needs as a whole, it became very clear to me that I wanted to make this impact with other families.
I moved to California in 2003 and attended Cal State University, Fullerton for my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Communicative Disorders. I have graduated in 2009 and worked in pediatric private practice since then.
The majority of my speech-language-pathology career has been working with toddlers in early intervention as well as preschoolers and school age children.
I have gained a plethora of experiences with speech sound disorders, expressive and receptive language challenges, pragmatic disorders, and Apraxia of Speech.
My passion is in early intervention especially as it applies to children on the Autism Spectrum Disorders and I believe in constant collaboration with families and other professionals (Occupational Therapists, Applied Behavioral Therapists, Neurodevelopmnental pediatricians, Psychologists, School Teachers) in order to provide the best possible outcomes.
I hold a P.R.O.M.P.T certification (Level 1 and 2), Hanen Certification (“It takes Two to Talk” “More than Words”) and my continuous education training includes:
Sara Johnson’s Talk Tools program
S.O.S Feeding Solutions
Michelle Garcia’s Social Thinking Methodology
DIRFloortime
ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis)
